International Steak Cookoff Association held a competition in Mountain Home on June 25th in conjunction with the Red, White and Blue festival to benefit US Veteran Outreach suicide prevention initiative. The event drew twenty three (23) teams and about 100 people. US Veteran Outreach facilitator Dan Hall received donations for the cause and presented a YETI cooler donated by Doug Gregg to Doug Stephens of Lakeview and a Stevens 12 gauge shotgun donated by James Payne to Eileen Atherton of Bald Knob. Mayor Hillrey Adams arranged the event.
